Katariya Prem Bharatbhai is a brave 13-year-old boy battling Severe Thalassemia Major, a critical blood disorder where the body cannot produce enough healthy red blood cells.
To stay alive, Prem has been undergoing painful, regular blood transfusions since he was a few months old. However, transfusions are only temporary, and the only permanent, curative option is a Bone Marrow Transplant (B.M.T.).
In a major ray of hope, his 3-year-old younger brother, Virat Bharat, has been tested and found to be a fully matched sibling donor. The doctors plan to use Virat's donated bone marrow for the transplant.
The procedure is scheduled to take place at the Sankalp-Health1 Centre for Pediatric Hematology Oncology and BMT under the supervision of Dr. Deepa Trivedi, Program Director.
The total estimated package cost for the transplant is INR 10,00,000/-. This is a massive sum that Prem's family cannot afford. Your support can fund his transplant and give him a chance at a healthy, transfusion-free future.
